Conversations about musicians’ mental and emotional wellbeing and their relationship with their instrument, work, and environments do not happen enough. Studies have shown that musicians consistently have high burnout levels, susceptibility to mental health conditions, and career dissatisfaction.

While research on musicians’ health is growing steadily, much of it is confined to academic publications or isolated institutional initiatives such as courses and resources that do not always reach the musicians who need it the most.

Why?

Our health as musicians forms a cornerstone of our artistry, and learning about it should be both approachable and inspiring. Be, Play Well aims to make that possible.
